Why this wine
Demi-Sec carries noticeably more sugar than Brut, which makes it the one style that genuinely works with dessert rather than fighting it. Long out of fashion and quietly excellent with fruit tarts and blue cheese. Not a beginner's mistake — a deliberate choice.

How it tastes
Luscious and fresh, with apricot, pear, mango and caramelised pineapple lifted by pink grapefruit. Chardonnay 50%, Pinot Noir 30%, Meunier 20%.
The producer
Demi-Sec carries markedly more sugar than Brut and has been out of fashion for decades, which is precisely why good examples are rare. Cellar master Xavier Berdin blends varieties, growths and reserve wines to the Palmer house style.
