NV Grand Brut, Champagne Perrier-Jouët
About the Winery: Founded in 1811 in Épernay, Perrier-Jouët is celebrated for its floral, Chardonnay-driven style and its long-standing heritage rooted in elegance and artistry. The maison’s Grand Brut is its signature cuvée, crafted from a wide selection of crus and reserve wines to ensure consistency, harmony and refinement. Known for its delicate balance of freshness, fruit purity and subtle brioche complexity, Grand Brut reflects the house philosophy of finesse over power.
Grape Variety: Approx. 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier, 20% Chardonnay (typical house blend)
Appearance: Pale gold with fine, lively bubbles and bright clarity, showcasing meticulous blending and ageing on lees.
Aroma: Fresh and expressive with notes of pear, peach and citrus zest, supported by white flowers, brioche, almond and gentle pastry tones. Subtle honeyed nuances lend warmth and charm to the bouquet.
Palate: Elegant, smooth and harmoniously balanced. Crisp orchard fruit is complemented by light toasted notes and soft sweetness. A delicate mousse and refreshing acidity lead to a clean, supple finish with floral lift and gentle richness — a hallmark of the Perrier-Jouët style.
Body: Light to medium-bodied with graceful texture and fine, persistent bubbles.
Acidity: Medium — lively, balanced and essential for freshness and drinkability.
Cellaring Potential: Enjoy now or within 3–5 years; developing greater brioche, honeyed and nutty complexity with short-term ageing while retaining elegance.
Perfect Pairing: Excellent with oysters, sushi, prawns, smoked salmon, soft cheeses, delicate chicken dishes and celebratory canapés. Its floral delicacy makes it a superb apéritif or versatile dining companion.
Serving Temperature: 8–10°C to highlight freshness, aromatic lift and mousse finesse.
