Why this wine
Franciacorta is Italy's answer to Champagne — same method, same grapes, long lees ageing — and Bellavista is one of its founding estates. Extra Brut means minimal sugar. Better value than Champagne at this price, and almost nobody knows it.

How it tastes
Fine, persistent mousse with Mediterranean flowers and lively citrus, taut and dynamic with a mineral finish. Chardonnay 86%, Pinot Nero 13%, Pinot Bianco 1%.
The producer
Franciacorta is made by the same method as Champagne and almost nobody outside Italy knows it. Bellavista was founded by the Moretti family in 1977 and farms 207 hectares at Erbusco — this cuvée draws on 91 plots across 60 vineyards, pressed slowly in Coquard presses.
