Description
Complex warm and spicy notes from over 17 herbs and spices, creating a beautiful balance of bitter and sweet.
About the Winery: Andrew Quady's career change from fireworks to winemaking led to the creation of Essensia from Orange Muscat, an instant success. Quady is now a leading American winery specializing in dessert wines, winning numerous awards worldwide. They continue to innovate, with their first port-like wine made in 1975 from Amador County Zinfandel, now using traditional Portuguese varietals.
Grape Variety: Orange Muscat 50%, Chenin Blanc 14%, Colombard 13%, Thompson 13%, Tinta Roriz 10% - a blend that provides a neutral base wine with aromatic and complex notes from the Orange Muscat and Tinta Roriz, complemented by the other varietals. Orange Muscat adds orange blossom, apricot, and exotic spice; Chenin Blanc brings lively acidity with quince and honeyed nuance; Colombard contributes crisp citrus and green apple; Thompson (Seedless) offers a clean, lightly sweet, neutral canvas; Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo) lends subtle red-fruit, cocoa, and savory spice depth.
