Why this wine
Zinfandel is California's own grape, and mountain-grown examples like this are a world away from the jammy style that gave it a reputation. Fred Peterson was vineyard manager at Ridge from 1985 to 1990 before founding his own label, and farms Bradford Mountain sustainably with a deliberately minimal hand. Serious old-vine Zinfandel at a price that hasn't caught up with it.
