Description

How it tastes

An elegant, cool-climate Chardonnay with vibrant grapefruit, fragrant apple, and subtle honey layered over a mineral palate with refreshing acidity and a touch of oak spice. Expressive bouquet of grapefruit, apple, and citrus zest, with subtle notes of honey, cinnamon, and wet stone minerality. Focused and refined, combining flavours of pear, lemon curd, and white peach with a hint of toasted oak. The wine shows excellent tension between richness and freshness, supported by creamy lees texture and mineral length. Contains sulphites. Information provided to the best of our knowledge at time of publication and subject to change by vintage.

The producer

Established in 2002 by Swiss-born winemaker Jean-Claude Martin and his South African wife Carolyn, Creation Wines is located on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge in Walker Bay, one of South Africa's most biodiverse and acclaimed wine regions. The estate's vineyards flourish on ancient quartzite and clay soils at the foot of Babylonstoren Mountain, cooled by Atlantic breezes. Creation's philosophy of “expressing the beauty of nature” is embodied through sustainability and social responsibility. As WWF Conservation Champions and Carbon Heroes, Creation is recognised globally for producing terroir-driven wines of purity and finesse, and was named No. 1 in Africa and No. 3 in the world at the 2024 World's Best Vineyards Awards.
