Description

A classic Barbaresco of great mineral expression, revealing perfumed aromas of red fruit, rose, and tea, framed by harmonious oak and refined tannins on a long, graceful finish.

About the Winery: The Pelissero family has farmed in the Langhe for generations. Based in Treiso, in the heart of Barbaresco DOCG, the estate was founded by Luigi Pelissero, who bottled his first wines in 1960. His son Giorgio, now winemaker and owner, combines oenological expertise with a deep respect for tradition and terroir. With 42 hectares of vineyards planted on sandstone and blue marl soils, Pelissero is certified under the SQNPI sustainable farming programme and crafts wines of richness, finesse, and typicity.

Grape Variety: 100% Nebbiolo ‚ from the Cascina Tulin vineyard in Treiso and Neviglie, an exceptional amphitheatre-shaped site covering an entire hillside. Altitudes range from 250‚350 metres, with south to southeast exposure ensuring optimal sunlight. Vines planted between 1950 and 2001 are Guyot-trained at densities of 4,000‚5,000 vines per hectare. The compact, shallow topsoil over marl and sandstone provides excellent drainage and mineral concentration, resulting in structured, age-worthy Nebbiolo.

Appearance: Deep ruby with garnet edges, showing depth and transparency typical of Barbaresco.

Aroma: Elegant and perfumed with notes of red fruit, dried rose, tea leaf, and fine oak spice.

Palate: Harmonious and mineral-driven, with red cherry and rose flavours framed by fine-grained tannins and subtle oak integration. Fermented in stainless steel with a two-week maceration, followed by 18‚20 months of ageing ‚¬” 50% in large 50-hL oak casks and 50% in small French barriques ‚¬” before nine months of bottle ageing. The result is a refined, balanced Barbaresco with tension and elegance.

Body: Medium to full-bodied, structured yet refined with persistent mineral length.

Acidity: Bright and lively, enhancing precision and aromatic clarity.

Cellaring Potential: Best enjoyed from 2026 to 2035, developing truffle, tobacco, and earthy complexity with age.

Perfect Pairing: Excellent with braised veal shank, roast game, or mushroom risotto with truffle.

Serving Temperature: Serve at 16‚18°C to highlight aromatic depth and structure.
