About the Winery: Gaia Estate, established in 1994 by Greek winemakers Leon Karatsalos and Yiannis Paraskevopoulos, is a pioneer in the modern Greek wine revolution, known for making cutting-edge wines and exploring indigenous Greek grape varieties.
Grape Variety: 100% Agiorgitiko (aka St. George) – a fragrant red grape native to Nemea in Greece's Peloponnese Peninsula, offering concentrated notes of red and black fruits, vanilla, black pepper and violet; typically medium acidity with supple tannins, thriving at higher elevations around Nemea.
Appearance: Deep ruby-purple core with a slight garnet rim; moderate staining and slow, pigmented tears.
Aroma: Concentrated damson fruit enhanced by orange peel together with floral and herbal pine notes.
Palate: With sweet fruits and a rich, velvety texture, this delivers great depth and complexity. A rich and expressive wine with concentrated notes of red and black fruits, vanilla, black pepper and violet enveloped in powerful, yet smooth tannins, through to a long finish.

Acidity: Medium to medium-plus, providing freshness and balance to the ripe fruit profile.
Cellaring Potential: Medium (5–10 yrs) - The wine went through 18 to 20 months maturation in mostly new French oak casks, suggesting good ageing potential.
