Description
How it tastes
Briary fruit and raspberry with a hint of liquorice — light-bodied, balanced, with delicate herbaceous notes into a fresh, elegant finish. Cold-macerated at 4°C for a week.
The producer
Refosco is Friuli's own red and barely known outside it. Collavini was founded by Eugenio Collavini in 1896 and remains family-owned, working the hills along the Slovenian border.
Food and drinking
Good with poultry & pork, red meat and cheese. Ready now, and will hold for a few years yet. Serve at 16–18°C.
