Why this wine
The Gimblett Gravels is New Zealand's strongest site for Bordeaux varieties, and Te Kahu is the wine that makes the case most cheaply. A Merlot-led blend of five grapes given sixteen months in barrel, it has the olive-and-tobacco savour that usually costs Right Bank money. Craggy Range makes it every year, and it is consistently the value in the range.
