Why this wine

A single-variety Chardonnay from one Sussex farm, 40% barrel-fermented and then left seven years before release — the sort of patience that usually only happens in Champagne. It has won Gold at both the Decanter World Wine Awards and the London Wine Competition. Twelve-year-old English sparkling is still a rare thing to be able to buy.
