Why this wine
The second wine of a Third Growth, from younger vines and shorter ageing. Margaux is the most perfumed of the Medoc communes. A genuine taste of classified Margaux at a third of the cost.

How it tastes
Textured and opulent, with red fruit and dark chocolate, full and round, the tannins seamlessly integrated. Merlot 49%, Cabernet Sauvignon 40%, Cabernet Franc 11%, macerated three weeks.
The producer
The second wine of Château Cantenac Brown, a Third Growth whose Tudor-style château is the most eccentric building in the Médoc — built by John-Lewis Brown in the early 1800s as a nod to his Scottish origins. Farmed sustainably with plant-based fertilisers only.
Food and drinking
Good with red meat, game and pasta. Built for the long term — decades, if kept well. Serve at 16–18°C.
