Why this wine

Carpineto's Montalcino estate is one of the highest in the appellation, and altitude is what this Riserva tastes of: perfume and mineral lift where a lot of Brunello gives only weight. It comes off one north-facing, dry-farmed vineyard, Vigneto Paradiso, and spends 42 months in cask before bottling unfined. A Riserva with the structure to be opened in twenty years' time.
