Why this wine
Erdener Prälat is 1.5 hectares of red slate in a natural amphitheatre, and this is Dr Loosen's Réserve bottling from ungrafted vines over a century old. Twenty-four months on full lees and three further years in the estate cellar before release give it a depth very few dry Rieslings reach. It is a benchmark bottle, and it will keep for decades.
