Why this wine

Riccardi is Villa Saletta's Sangiovese, off two hectares at Santa Margherita rather than a blend across the estate. Two years in a mix of French tonneaux and new Slovenian oak give it the leather-and-tobacco register Tuscany is bought for, without burying the fruit. At 13% it stays light on its feet where a lot of modern Tuscan red does not.
