Why this wine
Kershaw's G.P.S. bottlings go looking for single parcels outside his Elgin home ground, and Klein River — three hectares in one of South Africa's smallest wards — is the most distinctive of them. Whole-berry fermentation, wild yeast and part-ageing in breathable eggs keep the fruit clear and the tannins chalky. It is made in tiny quantities, and nothing else in the range tastes like it.
