Why this wine

A single-village Rioja bottled outside the Crianza and Reserva ladder, so it tastes of Laguardia rather than of barrel time. Light, floral and cool in feel, it is the opposite of the big oaky Rioja stereotype. Old bush vines at 640 metres, handled lightly.
