Why this wine

The regional Bourgogne from a grower who also bottles Chambertin and Puligny-Montrachet, blended across plots in the Côte Chalonnaise and Côte de Beaune and raised only in used oak so nothing masks the fruit. Wild-yeast fermentation, punching down by foot, no cold soak: the same minimal hand as the grand cru wines. An honest introduction to red Burgundy without the appellation surcharge.
