Why this wine

Badia a Coltibuono first bottled this wine at the estate in the 1950s and it remains the house benchmark: the traditional Sangiovese blend, a wild-yeast ferment and two years in large seasoned casks rather than barriques. Classical Chianti Classico Riserva, from vineyards farmed organically for three decades.
