How it tastes
Fresh raspberry and blueberry intertwined with herbs, sandalwood, bell pepper and mint, over a refined, precise tannin structure. Cabernet Franc 85%, Malbec 15%, harvested across five passes spanning six weeks and fermented in concrete.
The producer
El Enemigo was founded in 2010 by Adrianna Catena, daughter of Nicolás Catena Zapata, with Alejandro Vigil, head winemaker at Catena Zapata. Agrelo is deep clay in the Piedemonte — the site that made the case for Argentine Cabernet Franc.
Food and drinking
Good with red meat, lamb and risotto. Drinking well now, with a decade or more ahead of it. Serve at 16–18°C; decant 1–2 hours for optimal expression.
