Why this wine

Vinsobres is the coolest and least known of the southern Rhône crus, and this is a single lieu-dit off its best slope rather than an estate blend. Louis Barruol brought the Saint Cosme method here in 2019 — whole clusters, wild yeast, no fining or filtration — and the saline finish that marks all his wines comes through clearly. Cru Syrah with the detail of a far grander address.
