Why this wine

Pedernal Valley is one of Argentina's most exciting lesser-known sites, and this is a single-plot Malbec from 1,400 metres at a fair price. It shows a fresher, more herbal side of the grape than the typical Mendoza style, backed by Salentein's serious winemaking.
