About the Winery: Founded in 1987 on the slopes above Penafiel Castle, Pago de Carraovejas is part of the Alma Carraovejas group. The estateof limestone-rich vineyards and precision viticulture yield concentrated, pure-fruited wines that combine power with poise. Alma Carraovejas is Tempranillo-led with small portions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, matured in a mix of French and American oak.

Appearance: Deep ruby with purple highlights and high colour intensity.
Aroma: Black cherry, ripe plum and blueberry layered with violet, cedar, vanilla and subtle graphite spice.
Palate: Full-bodied and silky with dense dark fruit, fine-grained tannins and a mineral, balsamic finish.
