Why this wine
Folatieres is among the most celebrated premier crus of Puligny, high on the slope with thin soils over rock. Taut and mineral, with the richness held in reserve. White Burgundy at the level where it stops being a drink and becomes an argument.

How it tastes
Ripe fruit with flinty minerality, brioche and vanilla over a rich palate and a long, balanced finish.
The producer
Les Folatières is the largest Premier Cru in Puligny-Montrachet and the south-eastern neighbour of Le Montrachet and Chevalier-Montrachet themselves. Debord works a mosaic of partner vineyards with a deliberately minimal hand.
Food and drinking
Good with seafood, rich & creamy dishes and poultry & pork. Drinking well now, with a decade or more ahead of it. Serve at 12°C.
