Why this wine

Scarrone is a single vineyard in Castiglione Falletto, the village at the heart of Vietti's holdings, on the limestone and clay that suits Barbera. Eighteen months in French barriques give it the weight and polish of a far grander wine. A way into the Langhe without Barolo money.
