Why this wine

Fleurie is the most perfumed of the ten Beaujolais crus, and this comes from forty-year-old Gobelet vines on the pink granite that gives the appellation its reputation for finesse. The maker lives in the middle of the appellation and has spent four decades on Gamay, which shows in how little the winemaking intrudes. Burgundian elegance at a Beaujolais price.
