Why this wine

Pinot Blanc is usually the everyday white of Alsace, and this bottling is treated like a serious wine: hand-picked, slow-pressed as whole berries, and aged on the lees until the August after the vintage. That gives a full-bodied texture rarely found at this level without losing the racy acidity. A house making Alsace wine since 1574, now in conversion to organic farming.
