Why this wine

The Hemel-en-Aarde sits close enough to the Atlantic that cold air slows the ripening, which is why South Africa's finest Chardonnay comes from here. Creation's Art of range is the estate's flagship, half wild-fermented in barrel and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Taut and mineral rather than buttery.
