Why this wine
Encruzado is Portugal's finest white grape and the Dão is its home, but very few examples reach the UK. Soito ferments part of the must in barrel and stirs the lees lightly, so there is texture alongside the acidity the granite soils and cold nights give it. A good introduction to a variety that rewards the curious.
