Why this wine

A village wine that shows Rioja Alavesa before oak takes over: forty-year-old bush vines, ploughed by horse and certified biodynamic. Fourteen months in French rather than American oak gives it lift instead of vanilla sweetness. It is the clearest introduction to what this corner of Rioja does.
