Why this wine
White Rioja is usually either oxidative and old-school or scrubbed clean in steel; this is neither. Fifty-year-old Viura from half-hectare limestone plots, aged in a mix of vessels so the texture comes from the fruit rather than the barrel. It makes the case that Viura is a serious grape.
