Why this wine
Phylloxera never reached the Canary Islands, so these vines are ungrafted and several of the varieties grow nowhere else on earth. Viñátigo have spent three decades recovering them, and this Listán Negro is the clearest way in: volcanic, peppery and light on its feet, with only three months in old wood behind it. A red worth serving slightly chilled, and unlike almost anything else on the shelf.
