Why this wine

Pouilly-Fumé sits on the right bank opposite Sancerre and gives Sauvignon Blanc a gunflint smokiness you will not find across the river. Six months on fine lees builds texture here without a stave of oak. A benchmark version of the appellation at a price well below its famous names.
