Why this wine
Sancerre rosé is a fraction of the appellation's output and rarely leaves France, which makes a good one worth seeking out. The Reverdy family make theirs by direct pressing from twenty-year-old Pinot Noir on Verdigny's caillottes limestone, so it keeps the cut and chalkiness of the white without losing the red fruit. It is the rosé to put on the table when Provence feels too soft.
